Given the current challenging circumstances, it has been decided to revise the format of the Guernsey Choral Festival in its inaugural year and to postpone most events until 2022. As with other events, it has been a challenging year to launch the festival, and the decision to reschedule the events has not been made lightly. We are so grateful to the choirs for their support in creating what promised to be a fantastic week of events, and we look forward to having you on stage next year. confirm
There were a number of factors that led to this decision, not least the ongoing travel restrictions in bringing choirs and visitors to the Island and because of the added pressure Covid has put on our choirs. As a result we felt that restructuring the festival in 2022 will give us opportunity to better engage with our audience and create a more inclusive and extensive schedule of events. All those who have purchased tickets for postponed events will be contacted and refunded.
We are pleased to confirm that the festival will return next October, and there are a few events to watch out for in the meantime: The Kings Singers will still be workshopping with the Music Service Youth Choir at St James on Saturday 16th October 2021, 3pm. The screening of Voces8: Stardust will happen on February 9th at 7:30pm, and we are working to find a date for Bob Chilcott to run his workshop.
Keep an eye on the St James calendar for more events. We look forward to seeing you then.
